Huge dip in box office collection of Sanjay, Madhuri, Varun, Alia starrer ‘Kalank’

Patna : Abhisekh Verman directorial film ‘Kalank’ starring Sanjay Dutt, Madhuri Dixit, Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Sonakshi Sinha, and Aditya Roy Kapoor has failed to do well at the box office grossing only about Rs 73 crore in first 7 days despite a good opening day collection of over Rs 21.5 crore.

Released on April 17, 2019, on around 4,000 screens, ‘Kalank’, a period drama, was made on a budget of Rs 80 crore. But, it collected only over Rs 11.55 crore on the second day, a huge drop. It was expected to join Rs 100 crore club by the 5th day itself. The film is not doing well mainly due to its slow pace  though all the leading actors have given good performance.
