Patna : Ace shooter Hina Sidhu, 28, India, clinched gold medal in 25 metre pistol event at Gold Coast Commonwealth Games (CWG) on April 10, 2018, breaking commonwealth games record with a score of 38 in the final beating Elena Galiabovitch, Australia, who scored 35. India has so far won 11 gold medals at Gold Coast CWG 2018. Gold Coast is located in Queensland, Australia.
A Bachelor in Dental Surgery (BDS), Hina Sindhu had won silver medal in 10m Air Pistol on April 8, 2018, an event in which 16 year old Manu Bhaker, India, won gold. Hina, an Arjuna Award winner in 2014, is first Indian to win two medals at the on going CWG 2018.
Born at Ludhiana, Punjab, Hina married Ronak Pandit in 2013 and is now settled in Mumbai. Ronak, also a pistol shooter, is now her coach. Hina’s father was also a national sports shooter.
