Ara : A high voltage drama of kidnapping came to an end when two lovebirds reached Nawada police station, Ara, in Bhojpur District, on June 11, 2020, and told cops that they had tied knot at the Kali Temple at Bakhorapur and wished to live together. The Investigating Officer (IO) of the case Poonam Kumar produced the girl before an Ara Court to get her statement recorded under section 164 CrPC.
IO Poonam Kumari said that one Bimlesh Pandey of Nagopurn village under Ara Muffassil police station area took a girl belonging to village Gareya under Shahpur police station to Bihia with him on the pretext of getting some certificate on June 9, 2020, when the girl along with her family members was waiting for bus at Chandawa Mor under Nawada police station.
When the girl did not return home till late, her father went to Bimlesh Pandey’s home and queried about his daughter and Bimlesh Pandey. Bimlesh Pandey’s brother allegedly asked him to part with Rs 4 lakh if he wanted his daughter back. They also thrashed him and allegedly opened fired when he protested. Later, he lodged a named FIR with Nawada police station against three persons including Bimlesh Pandey in connection with kidnapping of his daughter.
SHO, Nawada police station, Sanjeev Kumar, arrested Bimlesh Pandey’s brother from Nagopur village under Ara Muffassil police station and interrogated him. Under mounting police pressure, Bimlesh Pandey along with her beloved reached Nawada police station on June 11, 2020.
Bimlesh Pandey, according to the SHO, said that his maternal uncle lived at Gareya village under Shahpur police station in Bhojpur District and he frequently visited the village and fell in love with the sister-in-law (saali) of his maternal uncle and both decided to marry. He said that the girl had come to Housing Colony at Chandawa under Nawada police station along with her parents. On June 9, 2020, she and her parents were waiting for a bus at Chandawa Mor for Gareya village. He reached there and with the consent of the girl eloped with her and tied knot at Bakhorapur Kali temple.. He stated that both are adults and wish to live together.
