New Delhi : A Half Marathon was conducted in Delhi on April 14, 2019, to mark the 100th birth centenary of the legendary Marshal of the Indian Air Force (MIAF) Arjan Singh, Distinguished Flying Cross (DFC). The event was aimed to spread awareness about the accomplishments of the legendary MIAF across the nation and to inculcate the spirit of camaraderie and sportsmanship amongst the air warriors of the IAF.

A total of 800 air warriors from all the Air Force Stations and Units of the IAF in the Delhi NCR participated at the event. The Half Marathon was flagged off by Air Marshal R Nambiar, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Western Air Command, from the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium at 5.30 am. The event was flagged in by Air Chief Marshal BS Dhanoa, Chief of the Air Staff (CAS) at 9am. The CAS awarded medallions and prizes to the winners on culmination of the event, according to a PIB release.
