Halep consolidates position as World No 1 in WTA rankings

Patna : Simona Halep, 26, Romania, Caroline Woznoacki, 28, Denmark, Sloan Stephens, 25, USA, and Angelique Kerber, 30, Germany, have retained their World No 1, 2, 3, and 4 positions respectively in the TA rankings released on August 13, 2018.

But, Halep has further consolidated her position as World No 1 after winning the Rogers Cup singles titles at Montreal, Canada, last week. Halep now has 8,061 points while Wozniacki has 6,135 points. Stephens has 5,727 points while Kerber has 5,255 points. Venus Williams, 38, is ranked World No 15 while Serena Williams, 36, is ranked 27th. Both the William sisters have slipped one position each.

Ankita Raina, 25, India, has jumped 6 places to be ranked World No 187 with 301 points while Karman Kaur Thandi,20, India, has jumpled 1 place and is ranked World No 197 with 279 points. Rutuja Bhosle,22, India, is ranked World No 389 with 101 points.
