Hajipur Divisional Jail inmates shot dead inside Jail by another inmate, lapse in Jail Security

Hajipur ( Vaishali) : In a major lapse in Jail Security, an inmate of Hajipur Divisional Jail Manish Kumar Singh was shot dead by another inmate Raja Kumar allegedly at the behest of Pune Gold loot and Arms Act cases accused Annu Singh, also an inmate of the same jail, around 2.25 pm on January 3, 2020. Hajipur is headquarters of Vaishali District.

Manish Kumar Singh, a native of village Teliya under Raja Pakar police station in Vaishali District in North Bihar, was also an accused in Pune Gold loot case besides being an accused in a Bidupur police station case in the district. A murder case would be lodged against Annu Singh and Raja Kumar.

Sadar DSP, Hajipur, Raghav Dayal, attributed the murder to personal enmity. DSP Dayal, however, could not explain as to how a Pistol reached inside the jail. The DSP said that the Investigation Officer could throw light on it. The DSP, however, said that Annu Singh had hatched the conspiracy leading to murder of Manish Kumar Singh. Police have seized the Pistol used in the murder.

Annu Singh, Raja Kumar, and slain Manish Kumar Singh were earlier arrested in connection with different cases including Arms Act and lodged in Hajipur Jail.
