Bagaha : Rain and hailstorm lashed entire Bagaha sub-division of West Champaran district in North Bihar on April 7, 2017,  night again after a month. Hundreds of thatched houses in remote areas were damaged ruined rendering people homeless. Asbestos and tin roofs were blown off and a large number of cement electric poles as well as trees were uprooted disrupting power supply and road communications under the sub- division.

One Jainul Nisa, 40, wife of Isha Mian of ward no.13, was seriously injured when a wall of one of her neighbours Abadullah Mian collapsed due to hailstorm and fell on her. She was taken to sub -divisional hospital, Bagaha, where the dactors referred her to Gorakhpur but she died on the way.

Rain suited sugarcane crops whereas Wheat, Moong, Arahar, vegetables and fruit crops like Mango and Litchi and other crops have been damaged. SDM, Bagaha, Dharmendra Kumar said that he had sought report on damage to the crops and property and loss of human lives from all Circle Officers (COs) t the earliest. Restoration of power supply under the sub division is expected to take two to three days.
