New Delhi: Gurgaon girls Ankita and Harshita Chauhan, twin-siblings, scored exceptionally well in their Class 12th examinations conducted by the CBSE. The results were declared on Saturday which reflected the same overall score for them. The science students scored 93% each.
The parents of the girls are very proud, albeit surprised at how similar their scores turned out to be.That apart, they scored equal marks at the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) 2016 as well, though the 17 year old lasses missed the bullseye by fractions. “We cannot get over the fact that our results are same. Neither can our parents believe it,” said Ankita.
“Ankita worked very hard and was expecting a higher score than me at the board examinations but our father used to say that we will score equally. When we checked our respective results, we were in shock to see that he was right,” said Harshita.
The girls studied at DAV Public School, Sector 14, Gurgaon, Haryana, and were neck and neck in every subject, with a score of 95 in both Physics and Physical Education. While Harshita scored 87 in English, 93 in Chemistry and 95 in Maths, her sister Anikita scored 93, 95 and 87 respectively. The last time these twins differed from each other was when one of them saw the light of the world 14 minutes before the other. Since then, the Chauhan girls have been pretty much alike.
Talking about individual expertise, Harshita said, “Ankita and I always study together and clarify even the slightest doubts. She is stronger in physics while I understand mathematics better.” Interestingly, the young ladies have been admitted to the same engineering college in Chennai and have opted for the same course as well, the choice being computer engineering.
RS Chauhan, a proud father and a civil engineer himself, said, “I do not know how to react. It’s amazing! The two have always supported each other and their results reflect the same. We never pressurized either and always allowed them to follow their path.”
