Patna: Government Rail Police (GRP), Patna, carried out raids under its jurisdictions and seized huge quantity of liquor including country-made and IMFL.

A press release issued by the office of SP (Rail), Patna, said a raid was carried out in 63553 Asansol-Varanasi Passenger Train by Gaya GRP and it led to recovery of six litre of countrymade mahua liquor. One Sanjay Manjhi, a native of village Bhori under Fatehpur police station in Gaya, was arrested in this connection by GRP men. He was later sent to judicial custody.

In another incident, GRP men at Gaya carried out search operation in 12366 Janshatabdi Express and arrested one Jagannath Choudhary, a native of Manpur Gandhinagar under Mufassil ps in Gaya. GRP recovered 15 cans of beer of 500 ml each, nine bottles of IMFL of 750 ml each and 60 pouches of countrymade liquor of 200 ml each. He was later sent to judicial custody.

A Bakhtiyarpur GRP team carried out search operation on platform number-2 and arrested one Chote Lal possessing 122 pouch of countrymade liquor of 200 ml each. He was also sent to judicial custody after his arrest.
