Ara : The Government Railways Police (GRP), Ara, on February 18, 2020, foiled an attempt by some unidentified criminals to kidnap two schoolboys. Police recovered the two boys from a bogie of a train at Ara railway station and handed them over to the RPF. The students were identified as Harshit, 12, son of Jitendra Kumar, and Nityam Sah, 1,1 son of Manoj Sah of Nala Mor under Ara Town police station in Bhojpur District. Both the boys are students of Class V.
SHO, GRP, Ara, said that Harshit Kumar and Nityam Sah had set out from their houses for school located near East Ramana Road and were waiting for school bus on the road. Meanwhile, some unidentified persons covered them with a cloth and put them into a car after using anaesthesia and reached Ara railway station.
The kidnappers put the two boys into the Sleeper Coach No 2 of New Delhi-Islampur Superfast Express at Ara railway station and uncovered their faces. Seeing children in school uniform and with school bags, other passengers smelt rat and informed the escort party in the train. Police personnel of the escort party immediately swung into action and recovered the two students though the kidnappers, seeing police, escaped from the scene. After recovery of the school children, the escort party handed them over to the RPF. The GRP and the RPF were quizzing the two boys.
