Govt seeks explanation from VKSU about appointment of 58 clerks

Ara : Bihar government has sought an explanation from Veer Kuer Singh University (VKSU), Ara, regarding appointment and promotion of 58 of its employees. Dozens of employees were appointed on the post of clerks and later promoted to the post of Assistants from the date of their appointment. When the matter came to light, the government sought explanation from the VKSU administration.

In the light of the letter from the Education Department, Government of Bihar, the VKSU administration has ordered an inquiry into the matter and checking documents relating to these appointments, promotion and confirmation of services of 58 employees working in the university.

The 58 employees, who were appointed on the post of clerks, typists, Counter clerks and Routine Clerks, were promoted to the post of Assistants from the date of their appointment and were also given salary of Assistants. Besides, the VKSU administration confirmed their promotion to the post of Assistants from the date of their appointment.

After receiving a letter from the Vigilance Department, Director, Higher Education, Government of Bihar, Prof Khalid Mirza issued a letter to the VKSU last week saying that the Vigilance Department has asked for documents relating to the appointment and promotion of 58 employees. He directed the VKSU adminstration to apprise the education department of the action taken in the matter.

The Deputy Secretary of the department requested the Principal Secretary to order an inquiry into the matter and also inform the former state general secretary, Yuva JD(U), Bhai Jitnedra Pandey about it. Bhai Jitendra Pandey had complained to the Vigilance Department regarding the illegal promotion and confirmation of services of 58 employees by the VKSU.
