Ara : Additional Secretary, Education department, Government of Bihar, K Senthil Kumar, in a recent communication to the Registrar, Veer Kuer Singh University (VKSU) , Ara, directed him to terminate services of 129 employees of the VKSU without delay. The government had written to the university administration twice earlier but no action was taken. This time, the Additional Secretary ordered for termination of these 129 employees and inform him accordingly.
At least 129 persons were appointed on grade III and IV posts in 13 constituent colleges under VKSU in 2008 and from 2011 to 2013. The Additional Secretary had asked for documents and detail report in this connection from the Vice-Chancellor, VKSU, and the university administration had sent all the relevant documents and detail report regarding appointment of these employees to the department. The VKSU administration was asked to cooperate with the vigilance investigation bureau which inquiring into illegal appointments made on grade three and four in the university.
Appointments of 40 employees at Maharaja College, Ara, 20 employees each in H D Jain College, Ara, and M V College, Buxar, 11 employees each in A S College, Bikramganj, S N College, Khairagarh, Rohtas, 5 employees in Mahanth Mahadevanand Mahila Mahavidyalay, Ara, 4 employees each in S P Jain College, Sasaram, and Jagjiwan College, Ara, 2 employees each in S B College, Ara, and Shankar College, Sasaram, one employee each in J L M College, Dehri-on-Sone, and S V P College, Bhabhua, and others are considered illegal.
The Additional Secretary, expressing concern over the illegal appointments by the former VCs of the VKSU, said that the government had demanded after a meeting on March 28, 2015, documents and reports about sanctioned posts, advertisement for appointment, constitution of selection committee, approval of the VCs and continuity of service after appointment but the university administration did not take it seriously and so the government considered the appointments illegal.
VC VKSU Leela Chand Sah said that the office of the Governor cum Chancellor has prevented him from taking any policy decision and so he is helpless in taking any action regarding termination of service of 129 employees. The government has been apprised of the fact. Now the newly appointment VC may take decision regarding termination of 129 employees.
