Ara : Bihar Government has announced a reward of Rs 50,000 on the head of notorious criminal Nayeem Mian, son of Amin Mian, of Dharahara locality under Ara Town police station in Bhojpur district. Nayeem Mian is wanted in a number of criminal cases including rangadari (extortion demand), double murder at Ara railway station, and murder of a businessman.

Bhojpur SP Aditya Kumar said that Nayeem Mian had killed a businessman of Bhaluhipur Krishna Kumar Singh at Padav Chowk on July 2, 2017, and a named FIR was lodged with  Ara Town police station against 10 persons including Nayeem Mian alias Nayeem Mistri. He had also demanded of Rs. 5 lakh from a electronic shop owner at Babu Bazaar under Ara Town police station from a mobile phone on September 18, 2017, with a threat of dire consequences. The mobile number was issued in the name of a person of Gazipur in Uttar Pradesh. Nayeem Mian is also named accused in Ara Civil Court bomb blast on January 23, 2015. He killed the businessman after being released from jail on bail, the SP said.

The SP said that Nayeem Mian has link with the criminals of Maharashtra to Uttar Pradesh. He was arrested in connection with murder of a person of Kalyan district in Maharashtra in 2016. He said that Nayeem Mian is absconding for the last three years and so he had sent a proposal to the police headquarters for announcing a reward on his head. On his recommendation, the Bihar government announced a reward of Rs. 50,000 on his head.

The SP further said Bhojpur police have arrested five notorious criminals in last six months. He said that police arrested a  criminal Kundan Kumar, who was carrying a reward of Rs. 50,000 on his head, from Barao under Piro police station on November 14, 2018, during an encounter while another criminal Hero was killed. Uttar Pradesh police had announced a reward of Rs 50,000 on Kundan Kumar’s head.

Bhojpur police also arrested Khuushid Quraishi carrying a reward of Rs 50,000 on his head from Delhi on March 22, 2019, in connection with murder of a bag businessman and also arrested Mamlesh Singh,  who too was carrying a reward of Rs 50,000 on his head, from Farukhabad in Uttar Pradesh on May 17, 2019. Police also arrested two dreaded criminals : Prakash Chaudhary carrying a reward of Rs. 50,000 on his head , and his associate Nepali alias Neeraj from Motihari. The SP said that the police are looking for Nayeem Mian and conducting raids at his possible hideouts.
