Patna: Bihar Governor Ram Nath Kovind on February 14 morning released a Coffee Table book, `Madhubani-the Art Capital’ at a function held at a premier hotel here. Former chief minister Jagannath Mishra was the chief guest.

Releasing the book, the Governor said Madhubani paintings were not only the arts of objects but reflection of thought process of entire Mithila region. He felicitated Baua Devi, a Madhubani painting artist who was recently honoured with Padma Shri award. She is the 9th Madhubani painter to receive Padma Shri award.  Governor Kovid said the rural women of Mithila region were engaged in preserving the rich cultural heritage of the region. The book has detailed history of archaeological monuments of Mithila region. Some of the buildlings at Rajnagar had lifts which were not found even in Patna.

Nitish Mishra, Director of Muzaffarpur based LN Mishra college of Business Management, said the college got the book published under its corporate social responsibility. The college last week introduced a training programme for village women to train them in digital financing.
