Patna : Governor cum Chancellor of state universities Lalji Tandon on October 26, 2018, directed his Principal Secretary Vivek Kumar Singh to ensure that no new college admits students in anticipation of getting affiliation from the university concerned. This follows reports that such colleges were not only admitting students illegally but were also putting pressure on the university concerned to allow them to appear at the examination.

The Governor has also ordered for physical verification of affiliated colleges across the state. Principal Secretary Singh announced this while addressing the College Inspectors of different universities at Raj Bhavan on October 26 at a review meeting. He also stressed on regular inspection of BEd colleges in the state. Singh said that there were complaints that more than one teaching institutions were being run from a single building at different places in the state.
