Patna : Bihar governor Ram Nath Kovind on June 12, 2017, inaugurated the annexe building of Khuda Baksh Oriental Public Library, Patna. He said that Khuda Baksh Oriental Library is among the Heritage of Bihar today.

The governor said that Khuda Baksh Sahab understood the relation between human beings and books hence established this library. He said that at the time of its establishment it had 4,000 manuscripts which had now increased to over 21,000 manuscripts, which were being digitised. The first phase of digitisation has been completed. It would be  developed as a world class library, the governor said. The library has around three lakh books, he said.

Noted Gandhian Razi Ahmad, a member of the Khuda Baksh Library Board, expressed hope that said the library would soon get a regular director. He said that the library was developing fast. Former Director of the Library Imtiyaz Ahmad and Divisional Commissioer, Patna, Anand Kishore, also addressed the function.
