Governor Fagu Chauhan inaugurates 28th Foundation Day function of VKSU

Ara : Bihar Governor cum Chancellor of State Universities Fagu Chauhan inaugurated the 28^th foundation day function of Veer Kuer Singh University (VKSU, Ara, on October 22, 2019, by lighting the ceremonial candle on the new campus of the university. He also paid his tribute to the freedom fighter of the first war of Independence in 1857 Veer Babu Kuer Singh by garlanding his bust.

Elaborate security arrangements were made by Bhojpur district administration to maintain law and order and 44 magistrates and 44 police officials along with heavy police force were deployed en-route meeting venue.

The function started with national anthem followed by welcome note and university song by the students. A ballet ‘ Ranbakura Veer Kuer Singh’ was also staged by the artists of Birju Maharaj Sangeet Academy under the guidance and direction of Bakshi Vikas. Raja Kumar, Amit Kumar, Ravi Shankar, Manish Kumar, Sonam Kumari Subhangi Jain, Shalini Kumari, Smriti Kumari and Minakshi Pandey kept the gathering spellbound with their performance whereas Bakshi Vikas in Kuer Singh gate-up mesmerised the people and even the Governor, who went on clapping throughout the programme.

Speaking on the occasion, Governor cum Chancellors of Universities Fagu Chauhan said that Bhojpur has been a land of bravery and it had a glorious history and Babu Kuer Singh was one of the gems of this land who had freed the area from the shackles of the British empire by mobilising the people from Bhojpur to Lucknow and formed ‘Krantikari Government’ with deserters of Danapur cantonment. He was in true sense a democrat, the Governor said exhorting the people to take oath to take the university to a new height on the foundation day of the university.

The Governor, quoting Shyama Prasad Mukherji, said that an area is assessed with the living and thinking and character of the people of that area. He hoped that the VKSU would attain a new height as the government is extending all help to the educational institutions. He further said that celebration of foundation day of any institution indicates that it evaluate its previous achievements and plans for the future.

Additional Chief Secretary to Governor Brajesh Malhotra, Vice-Chancellor, VKSU, Devi Prasad Tiwari, Prof Devdutt Rai from Florida University, USA, Pro-VC, VKSU, Nank Kishore Sah, Bhojpur DM Roushan Kushwaha, SP Sushil Kumar, State President, Bihar Teachers’ Association, Kanhaiya Bahadur Sinha were present on the occasion.

Registrar, VKSU, Col Shyamanand Jha conducted the meeting while VC, VKSU, Devi Prasad Tiwari, welcomed the distinguished guests and the Pro-VC Nand Kishore Sah extended vote of thanks.VC, VKSU, Devi Prasad Tiwari, while welcoming the distinguished guests, highlighted the achievements of the university and its future plans. He promised tostreamlined the examination process and regularise the academic session by June 2020.
