Biharsharif (Nalanda) : Dr Priya Ranjan Kumar Priyadarshi, 40, a Government doctor posted at Primary Health CEntre (PHC), Gokulpur Mutt, under Rahui police station in Nalanda District, was shot dead in broad daylight on March 5, 2020, near Nijai Mor by unidentified criminals riding three-four bikes. The criminals fired 6 round on Dr Priyadarshi.

Dr Priyadarshi, who was a native of village Nesra under Noorsarai police station in Nalanda District, was going on duty on his bike when he was shot dead at around 10.15 am by the criminals, who were apparently waiting for him.

Police are groping in dark about the identity and whereabouts of the assailants despite lapse of 12 hours. When asked about it, SHO, Rahui Police Station, said that Dr Priyadarshi was shot dead at an interior place. The SHO described it as a blind case. The place of occurrence is around 18 km away from Biharsharif, headquarters of Nalanda District. The deceased was a close relative of a former MLA from Harnaut in Nalanda District. Gokulpur Mutt falls under Harnaut Block.

Dr Priyadarshi was originally posted at Additional Primary Health Centre (APHC) , Gonawan, under Harnaut Block but was serving at Gokulpur Mutt on deputation.
