Gopalganj: Gopalganj DM Rahul Kumar on December 9 ordered an inquiry into the death of a female patient at Barauli Primary Health Centre (PHC) the same afternoon. He said that stern action would be taken if the doctors are found wanting in duty.
Shukhboon Nesha (30), daughter of Mohd Zalim Ansari of village Sisai under Barauli ps, had come to her father’s house from her in-laws place at village Pacharhata in Siwan, recently with her two kids. She is wife of Abbas Ansari. On Friday morning, she bathed her kids and took bath herself with cold water and developed cold. Her condition deteriorated after that and she was rushed to Primary Health Centre (PHC), Barauli, in a serious condition. The family members could not find a single doctor at the PHC though they were assured by the hospital employees that doctors would come soon.
The patient’s condition deteriorated further as she was not attended by any doctor for one and half hours. She later died at the PHC yet no doctor turned up there The family members lost their cool and created ruckus inside the PHC. Sensing the gravity of the situation, the employees of the PHC fled away from there. Though the family members tried to contact the medical in-charge, PHC, they found his cellphone switched off. After that, the family members contacted Gopalganj DM and narrated him the entire story behind the death of the patient.
As the news of death of the patient reached Siwan, her in-laws and other family members reached Barauli PHC. They took away the body without post-mortem. The deceased left behind two minor kids.
