Gopalganj: The court of ADJ-6, Gopalganj, Ramashray Prasad, on January 30 rejected the bail petition of Lal Babu Pasi, an accused in Khajurbanni liquor tragedy in 2016. The defence lawyer Vinay Mishra said that his client would move Patna High Court for bail. Earlier, the court of District and Sessions Judge had transferred the bail petition to the court of ADJ-6.

The defence lawyer on Monday argued that the fault of his client is that he is a native of Khajurbanni. He said that nothing objectionable was found from his house and he was falsely implicated to save some bigwigs. Arguing in the court, Special Public Prosecutor Ravi Bhushan Srivastava said that Lal babu Pasi is equally guilty like the other accused of the case. He said that the accused dealt in illicit liquor that took the lives of 19 persons and six persons were handicapped. After hearing the arguments of both the lawyers, the court rejected the bail petition of Lal Babu Pasi.
