Alok Mishra

Gopalganj: The court of ADJ-1, Gopalganj,  on Thursday directed the district police to produce the case diary of one Kailaso Devi before the court and issued a reminder to them over it. The next date of hearing has been fixed on November 10.

It may be mentioned here that over 20 persons had died after consuming liquor at village Khajurbanni in the district on August 16-17 this year causing uproar in the political circles of the state as the Nitish Kumar government had banned sale and consumption of liquor in Bihar from April 1, 2016. Kailaso Devi is also one of the accused in the case. Her counsel Vinay Kumar Mishra had earlier prayed the court of District and Sessions Judge (DJ) o grant bail to her. The matter was heard in the court of ADJ as the DJ was not present.

Mishra pleaded that the police falsely implicated people belonging to weaker section to save the skin of some influential persons in the Khajubanni incident. He said that police could neither recover liquor nor any objectionable item from the house of Kailaso. He pleaded that the liquor that was recovered from a field as shown in police seizure list, did not belong to Kailaso. Earlier, the court had directed police to submit the case diary but they failed to submit the diary of Kailaso Devi on Thursday.

It may be mentioned here that bail petitions of over half a dozen accused: ,hatu Pasi, Sanoj Pasi, Rajesh Pasi and Manoj Pasi, in Khajubanni case had been rejected by the court earlier.
