Goons attack Saharsa ANM school hostel, trainee boytcott classes

Saharsa : Apprehensive after May 25, 2017, night attack by some miscreants on the hostel of Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM) training school, Saharsa, the trainee nurses boycotted their classes and hospital duty on May 26. The ANM school students met Saharsa DM Vinod Singh Gunjiyal on May 26 and urged him to enhance security at their hostel. DM Gunjiyal said that he had directed Saharsa SP to ensure tight security at the hostel.

Some miscreants had pelted the ANM school hostel with stones on May 25 night. The hostel is located beside the ANM school having 90 students. Saharsa Civil Surgeon Dr Ashok Kumar Singh, however, described the incident as part of a conspiracy to defame him and claimed no such incident had taken place. The Civil Surgeon alleged that the trainee nurses were instigated to meet the DM.

ANM School Principal J Thomas said that the hostel inmates informed her about stone pelting by some criminals at 2 am after which she informed the Civil Surgeon. A team of Sadar Police station, Saharsa, led by SHO Bhai Bharat reached the hostel after getting information from the Civil Surgeon and gathered information from the security guard and asked him to remain alert. ANM School Principal Thomas said that the hostel inmates had sought her permission to meet the Civil Surgeon which gave but they instead met the DM.
