Patna : Fifth seed David Goffin, 30, Belgium, and 6th seed Pablo Carreno Busta, 29, Spain, crashed out of ATP Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships at Dubai, UAE, losing their respective 2nd round matches on March 16, 2021. But, 4th seed Roberto Bautista Agut, 32, Spain, the World No 11, advanced to Round of 16 after his 2nd round opponent Mathew Ebden, Australia, retired in the first set trailing 1-4.

World No 41 Kei Nishikori, 31, Japan, beat World No 13 David  Goffin in straight sets 6-3, 7-6 in 2nd round. Nishikori won 4 break points during the match to 3 by Goffin. The Japanese won 3 games in a row in the match to 2 by the Belgian. Nishikori fired 4 Aces during the match to 5 by Goffin.

World No 44 Marton Fucsovics, 29, Hungary, upset World No 15 Pablo Carreno Busta in a three-set battle 6-7, 6-3, 6-2 in 2nd round.  Fucsovics won 4 break points during the match to 1 by Busta. The Hungarian won 7 games in a row to 3 by the Spainiard.  Fucsovics, in all, won 104 points in the match to 84 by Busta.The Hungarian fired 6 Aces in the match to 2 by Busta. Both the players committed 3 double faults each in the match.

2nd seed & World No 8 Andrey Rublev, 23, Russia, beat World No 87 Emil Ruusuvuori, 21, Finland, 6-4, 6-4 in 2nd round winning 2 break points to advance to Round of 16. Both the players fired 6 Aces each in the match. Rublev also won 3 games in a row during the match.
