New Delhi : Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Vijay Goel on August 31, 2017, felicitated Badminton Players:  Saina Nehwal, P V Sindhu, Kidambi Srikanth and their coaches P Gopichand and Vimal Kumar here.
Speaking on the occasion, Goel said that P V Sindhu and Saina Nehwal have one again proved that daughters of India can achieve anything in any sphere of life by their grit and determination.  He said they have won the hearts of millions of the people by their feat in the recently concluded World Badminton Championship at Glasgow. He said their success will inspire millions of youth of the country especially the budding sportspersons, according to a PIB release.
PV Sindhu, Saina Nehwal and Kidambi Srikanth thanked the Government of India, PM Narendra Modi and Sports Minister Vijay Goel for their consistent support to the players. They said the keen interest of the PM Narendra Modi in the promotion of Sports and welfare of sportspersons makes it possible to work hard towards achieving success, according to the PIB release.
P Gopichand and Vimal Kumar said that due to hard work and success of Badminton players, badminton is now the most popular sport in the country after cricket. They said due to facilities available to players now, India is continuously progressing well in different sports.
