Ara : Hundreds of girls students were imparted a week- long Martial Arts training in self defence under ‘Mission Sahasi’ organized by the Akhil Bharaitya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) at Mahanth Mahadevanand Mahila Mahavidyalya, Maharaja College, Saraswati Vidya Mandir, D K Carmel, Sambhavana Residential School, and Veer Kuer Singh University (VKSU), Ara.

National referee, Taekwondo, Jyoti Kumari, Rajesh Thakur, Soumya Anand, Rakesh Kumar, Rahul Rai and others imparted the training and told the girls to safeguard themselves when required.

Anamika Kesari, ABVP, said that girls have become soft target of miscreants now-a-days and incidents of eve-teasing, gang rape and harassment have become order of the day and girls are not safe anywhere even at their residence and so they must know to safeguard themselves. She added that keeping this in mind, the ABVP launched a programme ‘Mission Sahasi’ for the girls and they were imparted training in martial arts like Wushu, Karate, and Taekwondo. She hoped that after being trained in the martial arts, the girls would be able to defend themselves. She further said that trained girls will show their talent at Maharaja College, Ara, on October 31, 2018.
