Girl raped and shot dead by unidentified persons in Buxar, body burnt, no arrest

Buxar : Some miscreants outraged modesty of a girl and then shot her dead in Buxar District. Later, they burnt her body after sprinkling petrol on it to erase evidence. Police recovered the body from village Kukudha under Itadhi police station in Buxar district on December 3, 2019, and brought it over to Buxar Sadar Hospital for post-mortem.

Police also recovered a blank cartridge from the place of occurrence. A team of Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) has been requisitioned. An FIR has been lodged with Itadhi police station in this connection and police are investigating into the incident.

Buxar SP Upendra Nath Verma said that body of a girl, around  20 years, was found. She had reached the incident site properly dressed where some miscreants outraged her modesty and also shot her dead. Later, they sprinkled petrol on the body and set it ablaze to erase evidence.

Family members of the deceased said that the girl was talking on mobile with someone on December 2, 2019, at the gate of her house under Buxar Town police station area but they ignored it. After sometime, the girl was missing from the house. They searched for her everywhere and when they failed to locate her, they informed Buxar Town police station and lodged an FIR alleging she had been kidnapped by someone with a view to marrying her. Meanwhile, they received a call on mobile from an unknown number informing them that the girl would never return.

On Tuesday morning, police recovered the burnt body of a girl from Kukudha village under Itadhi police station. The SP said that he is trying to get the body of the girl identified and added that he could not say more about the body till it is identified.
