Girl crushed to death by speeding truck at Buxar

Buxar : A teenage girl, Madhu Kumari of Dhobighat Galil No 4 was crushed to death by a speeding truck between Kali Sthan and Shantinagar bridge under Buxar Town police station in Buxar District on March 2, 2019, afternoon, when she was returning home from tuition on her bicycle.

Police brought the body over to Buxar Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. After the incident, the local residents blocked the road  paralysing movement of vehicles. They burnt tyres on road raising slogans against the district administration. They were demanding a compensation of Rs 10 lakh to the family of the deceased. The blockade was continuing till the filling of this report.

SHO, Buxar Town police station, said that Madhu Kumari had gone to her coaching centre. She was returning home on her bicycle. When she reached between Kali Sthan and Shantinagar bridge, a speeding truck dashed her from behind killing her on spot. The resident of the area caught the truck and handed it over to police.

It may be mentioned here that the Buxar district administration has banned entry of truck in the town yet trucks are entering the town and plying with impunity.
