Bettiah: Dreaded gangster Babloo Dubey, 35, a resident of village Sisawa Kharas under Kalyanpur police station in East Champaran district, who was wanted in over 40 cases of extortion demand, loot and murder in West Champaran, East Champaran, Sheohar and Gopalganj districts of North Bihar, was shot dead by three unidentified criminals on May 11, 2017, soon after his production before a Bettiah court.
The assailants pumped five bullets into Dubeys body killing him on the spot and fled away on a bike brandishing arms before security personnel. Dubey was taken to the court by five armed policemen from Bettiah jail.
Babloo Dubey was lodged in Motihari jail and was taken on remand by West Champaran police on April 11, 2017, and brought over to Bettiah court  for production in two cases. He was shot dead by  three criminals when he was coming downstairs after his production before the court of First Class Judicial Magistrate Kumud Ranjan and was to be produced next before the court of 6th ADJ Rakeshpati Tiwari in connection with murder of one Jawahar Shah, Mukhia of Ahabarsheikh  panchayat under Majhaulia  police station.
Getting the information West Champaran DM Lokesh Kumar Singh, SP Vinay Kumar and SDPO Sanjay Kumar Jha reached the spot and sent the body to MJK hospital, Bettiah, for autopsy. SP Vinay Kumar said that the deceased was taken on remand from Motihari district jail on April 11, 2017, in connection with trial of six criminal cases. The SP said stern action would be taken against the armed policemen deployed for taking Dubey to the court from Bettiah jail and back.
