Ganga House declared winner at Annual Sports Day ‘Spardha’ of DPS Chas

Chas (Jharkhand) : Ganga House was adjudged winner with 572 points followed by Chenab House with 559 points and Sutlej House with 547 points at the Annual Sports Day ‘Spardha’ of DPS Chas in Bokaro district in Jharkhand on January 18^, 2019.

Md. Shakir, Principal Judge, District Sessions Court, Bokaro, was the Chief Guest on the occasion. The school flag was hoisted by the Chief Guest along with Dr Hemlata S Mohan, Director and Principal, Delhi Public School, Bokaro, N Murlidharan (Pro-vice chairman, DPS Chas), Nilkamal Sinha, Principal, DPS Chas, and S Mohan, Ex. GM, BSL, Bokaro.

The event started with March Past by four Houses Ganga, Jamuna, Chenab, and Sutlej followed by a magnificent display of drill presentation by more than 300 students from different classes which showcased ‘bee’ drill, hoola hoop and free hand exercise forming the replica of DPS Chas. Quoting the example of various sports, Chief Guest Md. Shakir said that winning and loosing are part and parcel of life. Appreciating the magnificent sports day programme of DPS Chas, he urged the students to actively participate in sports.

Dr. Hemlata S Mohan, in her address, stressed that a healthy mind resides in a healthy body. She reiterated that it was a momentous moment for her as it was the first sports day of DPS Chas. She congratulated the teachers, staff, and students for making the sports day a grand success.

Earlier during the day the chief guest along with Dr. Mohan and Mrs. Nilkamal Sinha felicitated the winner of various events with medals and certificates.

The Principal, Mrs. Nilkamal Sinha said that student should follow true spirit of sportsmanship.
