Gang of fake arms licence makers busted in Bhojpur, 2 held

Ara : Bhojpur police busted a gang of fake arms licence makers and arrested two members of the gang along with two rifles, two modified arms, two 7.65mm pistols including one regular pistol.

Bhojpur SP on April 15, 2018, said that police arrested Mohammad Sahzad, son of Mohammad Muqim Khan of Pathan Toli under Jagdishpur police station in Bhojpur district on April 14, 2018, late evening, and seized a 12 bore rifle, one modified arm, one 7.65mm regular pistol, two blank magazines, ten live rounds of 7.65mm caliber, and Xerox copies of 21 fake arms licence.

The SP said that police had earlier arrested a former block Pramukh Mohammad Muslim, son of Samshuddin of village Araila under Tier police station on April 11, 2018, from a farm house in the jungle bordering the Araila village and seized a big consignment of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) from his possession. Police had also seized a 12 bore rifle, a modified arm, one 7.65mm pistol and 21 fake arms licenses from his possession.

The SP further said that the police arrested Mohammad Sahzad on the revelation of Mohammad Muslim. He said that during interrofation, Mohammad Muslim confessed that he had been making fake arms licences with the fake name of ADM, Ramband in Doda district in Jammu and Kashmir, for the last 16 years and earned Rs 3, 000 to Rs 10, 000 per fake arms licence. He purchased papers similar to one used for issuing the original licence from Patna and gave Rs 2,000 to Rs 5,000 as commission to agents. He had a stamp in the name of ADM, Ramband of Doda district, and had made over 500 fake arms licences in last 16 years.

Mohammad Muslim, the SP said, revealed that he procured the arms for the customers from Kolkata. The SP stated that Mohammad Muslim also disclosed names of a number of his customers. Several persons from Bhojpur district, Buxar district, Bikramganj in Rohtas district are involved in this racket, the SP said adding that police would arrest all the fake license holders and persons involved in the racket. The SP stated that two police teams would be sent to Nagaland and Jammu and Kashmir to initiate further action in this connection.
