Bagaha: The river Gandak is posing threat to Pipra-Piparasi (PP) embankment at many places following increase in its water level. Executive Engineer Pipara- Piparasi flood control division I Vijay kumar Singh said that due to constant pressure from river Gandak pressure, about 20 feet nose of the spur built at 32.38 km sunk on September 21.
Local sources said that Gandak was also posing threat to the Dulari retireline of the PP embankment near village Chandrapur under Bhitaha block in West Champaran district. State Water resources minister Rajiv Ranjan alias Lalan Singh had visited the place twice earlier. The situation has triggered pa as the furious river is fast approaching the retireline. Due toheavy rains during last 24 hours many hilly rivers in Done area are in spate disrupting the road communication. The people are facing difficulty in reaching their block headquarters at Ramnagar.
