Motihari : The swollen Gandak river on July 15, 2020, eroded the approach slab of newly constructed Sattarghat Road Bridge at
Sattarghat in the north end of this bridge disrupting the traffic on this route. The approach road connecting the bridge has been
completely cut off.

The East Champaran District Administration has informed the Rajya Pul Nirman Nigam about it and asked it to repair the approach road. Raj Kishor Prasad, Executive Engineer, Road Construction  Department, said that he has informed the authorities concerned.                       Bihar CM Nitish Kumar had on June 16, 2020, inaugurated this 1,440  meter long concrete bridge over river Gandak at Sattarghat in East Champaran Diastrict through video  conferencing. This  bridge has connected Gopalganj to East Champaran district and its  construction was completed during last 8 years by Rajya Pul Nirman Nigam through  a private firm Bashishtha Construction Company at a cost of Rs 264 crore.

CM Nitish Kumar had laid the foundation of this bridge on April 5, 2012, and this bridge has connected the Ram-Janki
circuit and distance between  Motihari and Chhapra has been reduced by 45 km.
