Bokaro ( Jharkhand) : Two youth escaped with diamond studded gold jewellery and two gold chains worth more than Rs 8 lakh of a housewife and her married daughter in the name of cleaning them on December 5 . This incident took place at posh Cooperative colony, quarter number 168, Bokaro steel city, the house of a retired executive officer of SAIL Krishna Mohan Singh. Singh’s wife Rani Singh, his daughter Babita Singh besides he himself were present at the house when the two frauds, in their late twenties, escaped on their bike.
As per FIR lodged with City police station on Monday , the two youths came to quarter number 168 and offered powder for cleaning brass utensils and even ornaments which was refused by Krishna Mohan Singh but when Rani and Babita came out they gave the brass utensil asking the duo to clean them. After being satisfied with the cleaning, the two ladies brought two gold chains, two diamond studded bangles and two diamond rings for cleaning them. The two youths demanded warm water and asked the two women to take them to kitchen for better cleaning which they refused. After which the youths started cleaning the ornaments sitting on the vernadah in front of all three and even put some chemicals in the warm water.
Later the youths asked for more warm water and as soon as Babita stood up to go to kitchen, she started feeling giddiness. She called her mother raising alarm askingher to stop the youths, who she alleged had played some trick by adding chemical in the water. But by then, the two youths pushed both the ladies down and after throwing old newspapers on the face of K M Singh ran out and escaped on their bike. But, the CCTV installed at the house has recorded photos of the two frauds. Later, K M Singh called police and lodged complaint with them in this connection. City DSP Ajay Kumar said that police has got CCTV footage of the heist and on that basis raids were on to arrest the culprits.
