France beat Australia 2-1 in FIFA World Cup

Patna: France defeated Australia 2-1 in a Group C match in FIFA World Cup 2018 at Kazan Arena Stadium, Russia, on June 16, 2018. France, who are making their 15th appearance at the World  Cup, scored through Antoine Griezmann and Paul Pogba. For Australia, who are making their 5th appearance at the World Cup, Mile Jedinak scored the loan goal. No goal was scored in the first half of the match 

Griezmann scored the first goal for France, the winner of FIFA World Cup in 1998, in the 58th minute through a penalty corner. Australia soon made it 1-1 when Jedinak scored the equaliser through a penalty corner in 62nd minute. France took 2-1 when Pogba, assisted by midfielder O Giroud, scored goal in the 80th minute. France thus earned 3 points. No goal was scored in the first half of the match
