Ara : Four persons including two women and a child were injured in an LPG cylinder blast at a house in Bhaluhipur locality under Ara Town Police Station in Bhojpur District on April 2, 2020. A portion of the house was also damaged. The injured were admitted to Ara Sadar Hospital but the doctor referred them to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) after first aid.
An FIR has been lodged with Ara Town police station in this connection and police are investigating into the incident. The injured were identified as Doman Pandit, his wife Shanichari Devi, son Aman, and his mother.
SHO, Ara Town police station, Janmjay Rai, quoting the FIR, said that Shanichari Devi was boiling milk for her child when the LPG cylinder exploded and she and her child Aman caught fire. When her husband Doman Pandit tried to rescue them, he too sustained serious burn injuries. Doman Pandit’s mother was also injured in the blast.
The SHO said that no splinter of LPG cylinder was found on the spot and the cylinder was found intact. He said that police are investigating as to how the blast took place.
