Four persons drowned to death in village pond in Sitamarhi

Sitamarhi : Four villagers including a girl drowned to death in a pond at village Parsa-Mahind under Sonbarsa police station in Sitamarhi District in North Bihar on February 2, 2020.

The deceased included Alok Kumar Bhagat, 25, Niraj Kumar, 27, Ram Vishwas Rai, 40, and Sajan Kumari, 13. Seven villagers including the deceased had gone to the village pond to take bath before performing Kul Devta Kari Gosai related rituals at the village.

The villagers under the leadership of SHO, Sonbarsa Police Station, Rakesh Ranjan Jha, fished out the bodies. Sadar SDO, Sitamarhi, Kumar Gaurav along with SDRF team too reached the village. The Kul Devta ritual performers fled away the site.
