Nawada: In two major achievements within 24 hours, four naxalits were nabbed and two minor girls were rescued from the clutches of their kidnappers by Nawada police

Nawada SP Vikash Burman said the naxalites had planned to strike vital public installations taking advantage of the cold weather and extreme foggy conditions in the district. The naxalites, belonging to the outfit of their leader Praduman Sharma, had burnt several railway equipment besides several vehicles at the newly constructed Kharond railway station under Rajauli sub-division on October 3, 2016, midnight besides furling black flags in Rajauli on Independence Day.

The four arrested naxalites were identified as Manoj Yadav, Akhilesh Kumar, Surendra Yadav and Ramchandra Yadav. The four were nabbed while trying to escape in a boat from Phulwariia dam under Hardiya panchayat under Rajauli police station, in a joint operation involving the SSB, SWAT and local police. The police chief has decided to reward the cops and para – military force involved in the exercise.

In another operation by Nawada police and the GRP, two minor girls, Komal Kumari, 14, and her sister Khushbu Kumari, 10, belonging to Hasanpura village under Kawaiya police station in Lakhisarai district, were rescued from the clutches of their unidentified kidnappers from 53623 Up Jhajha- Gaya passenger train at Nawada railway station on December 13 night.

The girls, both sisters, and identified as Komal Kumari, 14, and Khushbu Kumari, 10, and native of Hasanpura village in Lakhisarai district, were abducted while returning home from Hasanpura Government Girls Middlle School and put on train. However, an employee of Sheikhpura collectorate travelling in the same compartment realised it after a brief conversation with the terror-struck girls who were being taken to be sold in the flesh trade and informed the Nawada SP about their abduction leading to their recovery. However, the abductors made good their escape, said Nawada GRP SHO Raj Kishore Singh.
