Gaya: Four  hardcore Maoists including a Zonal Commander and 3 sub-commander of  banned CPI (Maoist), all carrying rewards on their heads, were  killed in an encounter with CRPF ( Cobra) on March 16, 2021,afternoon, in Maunawar forest area under Dumariya police station (PS) in Gaya District  under Magadh Division in Bihar.  Police  are conducting raids in the area  to nab the remaining Maoists.

Sunil M Khopde, Additional Director General ( Operations), Bihar, said that police have recovered 3 AK47 rifle  and one INSAS rifle with huge  ammunitions  from the place of encounter. Police recovered four bodies, who were later identified as Amaresh Bhokta, Zonal commander, Sheo Pujan, Srikant Bhuiya, and UdayPaswan all Sub-Zonal Commanders of  banned Maoist organization.

Khopde said that police had got inputs that some Maoists were camping in that area and planning to strike. On the basis of the information received, police launched an operation to locate the naxalites leading to an encounter between police and them on March 16, 2021, in which which four hardcore Maoists were killed .
