Sasaram: Four persons including a two year old girl were killed while over two dozen injured when a speeding bus overturned into a canal near Baradih bridge under Agrer Police Station in Rohtas district on Thursday evening.
A bus from Sasaram in Rohtas district was going to Kochas. When it reached near Baradih bridge, the driver lost control over the steering and the bus fell into a canal in which four persons including a two year old girl were killed while over two dozen were injured. The injured were admitted to Sasaram Sadar Hospital. Later, police brought the bodies to the hospital for post-mortem.
The deceased were identified as Tabbasum, 2, daughter of Md Nizamuddin of Shivpur under Kargahar police station, Md Shamshad Khan of Pakhnari and Dinesh Pandey of Kothara village under Sasaram Muffasil Police Station. Identity of a person was yet to be ascertained.
The villagers said Md Shamshad was going to his Sasural at Kaithi while Tabassum was returning home along with her mother Shabana Khatoon, who was seriously injured but was rescued by the villagers and admitted to the hospital.
