Sitamarhi: Four passengers were killed on the spot in a head on collision between a bus and a truck carrying goods on July 27, 2017, near Bhup-Bhairow Chowk on NH 104 under Dumra police station in Sitamarhi district. The deceased were identified as Mahendra Paswan, an employee of  Allahabad Bank, Pupri, Amit Kumar, Bajpatti block PHC staff, Md. Irshad, a cloth merchant of Pupri Bazar, and Kaushal Kishore, a bus staff.

The bus was going to Pupri while the truck was coming to Sitamarhi. More than two dozen critically injured passengers were referred to Sri Krishna Medical College Hospital (SKMCH),  Muzaffarpur, as the Sitamarhi district doctors  are on indefinite strike to protest frequent attack on medical practitioners and their staff.
Sitamarhi district administration pressed cranes into the service to bring both the vehicles on the road from a roadside ditch.
