Bokaro ( Jharkhand) : The UPSC Civil Services Exam 2017 results have brought cheers to the DPS family as four former students of Delhi Public School (DPS)  Bokaro in Jharkhand : Nitish Kumar Singh, Kumar Gaurav, Riya Kejriwal, and Anil Kumar, excelled at the exam.

Nitish Kumar Singh- 23 Rank (2008 batch), Kumar Gaurav -134 Rank (2005 batch), Riya Kejriwal -176 Rank (2010 batch) and Anil Kumar -301 Rank (2009 batch) cracked the most coveted civil services exam, the results of which were announced recently.

Nitish Kumar Singh holds a BTech Degree from ISM, Dhanbad, and Kumar Gaurav, who holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Roorkee, and Management Degree from XLRI, Jamshedpur, both worked in a KPMG company before clearing the  UPSC Civil Services Exam. Riya Kejriwal did her Graduation from  Indraprasth College, Delhi, and Post Graduation from Delhi School of Economics. Anil Kumar holds a BTech Degree and worked as Deputy Manager in ACC Cement for two years.

It may be mentioned that for the last few years students of DPS Bokaro are proving their mettle at this  examination. They include Aman Kumar, Rohan Kumar Jha, Ravi Kumar, Ajay Prakash, Rahul Kumar Sinha, Chandra Mohan Thakur, Sagar Srivastava and Manish Vijay.

Hemlata S Mohan, Director and Principal DPS Bokaro, expressed immense happiness on the achievement of the DPS students and congratulated them. In her message she said, “These results reflect the glory that merits national pride. These four achievers have proved that with grit and determination, you can write your own success story. I am confident that these youth icons will serve society selflessly. They will be the trend setters that we wish to see in our nation. I wish them the best. ”

Riya Kejriwal, who addressed the school assembly  on June 12, 2017,  said, “Nothing is impossible, hard work and perseverance is the key to success.”.  Kejriwal recalled the time spent in the school and said that the school and the teachers provided a congenial atmosphere for students to think, grow and progress.

Nitish Kumar Singh, 25, from Jharkhand’s left wing extremism-hit Palamu district, has secured the 23rd rank in India at UPSC Civil Services exams. He completed schooling from GGPS, Bokaro, and studied science in Class 11 and  12 at DPS Bokaro. He completed his B Tech from Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad, now an IIT. His father Prayag Singh is a retired employee of Bokaro Steel Plant and mother is a homemaker. Nitish cleared UPSC in his third attempt and wants to serve the society in every possible way, he said. “I want to serve the people of this country, “ he said.
