Bagaha : Four persons including two women and two children were killed in a tractor-trailer mishap, which took place in  Harnatand forests range in Valmiki Tiger Reserve (VTR) under Gobarahiya police station in West Champaran district on February 18, 2017, evening.

Gobarahiya police station SHO Dhananjay Rai said that a tractor-trailer carrying over a dozen persons was returning to village Sonagarawa under Valmikinagar police station from village Bairia Dun under Gobarahiya police station after participating in the last rites of one Ashok Pandey, a native of Bairia Dun village. When the vehicle carrying them was ascending a Danda hill (red mountain), its brake failed and the vehicle fell into a cave, the SHO said.

Four persons identified as Sita Devi, 32, Malati Devi, 30, Rakesh Kumar, 10, and Rosina Kumari, 2, died on the spot while  some others were injured and admitted to Sub -divisional hospital, Bagaha, of which six persons including Bechan Mahto were referred to Patna Medical College Hosptal, said Deputy Superintendent of the hospital Ashok K Tiwary.
