Muzaffarpur : Four passengers died on the spot and six passengers were injured when a Madhubani bound bus from Delhi bearing number UP 70 EA 5512 turned turtle on East West Corridor Highway near Gopalpur Chowk under Bochaha police station on Muzaffarpur- Darbhanga road in Muzaffarpur district around 2 pm on March 12, 2017.
All the passengers were returning to celebrate Holi festival at their native villages. The injured passengers were admitted to Sri Krishna Medical College Hospital (SKMCH), Muzaffarpur. The bodies were also sent to SKMCH for post-mortem. Police led by a DSP, East, and SHO, Bochaha police station reached the spot soon after getting the information. The driver of the bus also suffered serious head injuries. Police were trying to identify the passengers. DSP, East, confirmed death of four persons and injury to six in the accident. There were sixty passengers in the bus. The accident took place as the driver had a nap. The passengers took the bus as they could not get birth in the train.
