Sasaram : Four criminals were beaten to death at village Kowath under Dawath police station in Rohtas district around 10.30 am on October 24, 2017, for allegedly demanding `Rangdari’ ( extortion amount)  from Arun Chaudhary, husband of a Rohtas District Board member Rinki Devi, and firing on him at his cloth shop. The bullet, however, missed the target and hit a youth standing near the shop and injured him.

Eight motorcycle borne armed miscreants came to the cloth shop of Arun Chaudhary on October 24 and demanded extortion money and when he refused, they miscreants fired on him but missed the target and the bullet hit a youth Niranjan Chaudhary standing nearby. At this, the locals caught four of the criminals and thrashed them while the other four managed to escape.

On getting information, police reached the spot and brought the the injured miscreants to the Primary Health Centre (PHC), Dawath, where the doctors declared them brought dead. Police recovered a countrymade pistol, four live cartridges, a motorcycle and one blank cartridge from the spot. The criminals had demanded Rangdari from Arun Chaudhary earlier too.
