Patna: Former secretary of Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) Harihar Nath Jha, who was in detention of Patna police for last three days, was formally arrested by Special Investigation Team probing the Intermediate examination result scam on Monday. He was produced before the special vigilance cout which forwarded him to Beur Central Jail for 14 days.
Jha is posted in education department as joint secretary. His was implicated in the case by the arrested former chairman of the board Lakeshwar Prasad Singh, who during interrogation, had blamed Jha for all the ireggularities and had claimed he used to sign on the files recommended by Jha.
The official was detained by SIT three days ago and was kept at Kotwali police station for interrogation. Investigating offiicals confirmed his arrest on Monday. The topper in Arts Ruby Rai was arrested on Friday.
