Buxar : Buxar police and Economic Offence Unit (EOU), acting on a tip off, seized 395 cartons of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) worth about Rs 35 lakh from near Banarpur village on Chausa-Ramgarh main road on December 20 and also arrested four persons. Later, EOU took them to Patna for further interrogation.
A team of EOU from Patna got information that a consignment of liquor was being brought over from Haryana via Buxar. The EOU team immediately laid trap with the help of Buxar police and intercepted a truck from Haryana loaded with salt near Banarpur on Chausa-Ramgarh main road and seized 395 cartons of IMFL hidden under salt. The liquor was to be delivered at Patna for the New Year celebrations. Police also arrested Binod Gupta and Akhauri Ravi Kumar of Jai Prakash Nagar, Ara, in Bhojpur district and Ashok Kumar and driver of the truck Lakhi Chand from Rewadi in Haryana.
