Muzaffarpur : The rising water level of river Lakhadei and southern subsection of river Bagmati under Aurai block in Muzaffarpur district in North Bihar has triggered panic among the locals. A diversion made along river Lakhandei at Chahuta under Aurai block has been washed away and flood water has entered over fifty villages. Aurai is over 102 km from Patna amd 28 km from Muzaffarpur town.

River Bagmati has crossed the danger mark under Aurai block. The water levels of rivers Gandak, Budhi Gandak and Lalbakiya are also increasing since July 11, 2017, night. Six persons drowned to death during last three days in Muzaffarpur district. The district administration is yet to respond to the alarming flood threat.
