Dhanbad (Jharkhand) : Five persons from Kolkata including a woman, a two year old girl, were killed after the City Honda car they were travelling by fell into 40 feet deep Khudia river near Govindpur in Dhanbad District in Jharkhand on National Highway 2, which connects Delhi to Kolkata, around 5 am on May 26, 2020.  All of them including the driver died on the spot.

They were going to Kolkata on a City Honda from Gaya. But, the vehicle hit the divider on a bridge on NH 2 as the driver lost control over the fast moving vehicle and fell into Khudia river turning upside down. The window of the car got locked and its five occupants could not come outside the car.

Several villagers living near the place of occurrence saw the car moving at fast speed and later  falling into the river. They rushed to their rescue but no one was  found alive.
The OC of Govindpur police station S K Singh along with his cops  rushed to the spot after coming to know about the mishap and carried all the occupants of car to Patliputra Medical College Hospital, Dhanbad, where they were declared brought dead.
