Ara: Bhojpur police, on a tip off, conducted raid at Patel Bus Stand under Nawada police station on Monday evening  and arrested five gamblers besides director of guessing centre, Jai Bahadur Paswan. Police also seized four mobiles, guessing board and guessing slips in large number and Rs 4,00 cash.

ASP (operations) Md Sajid said that the guessing centre was running from a shop at Patel Bus Stand for long. On information, the policecarried out raid at the shop and arrested five persons and its director though a number of gamblers escaped. The ASP said that the arrested gamblers denied their involvement saying that they had come to the bus stand to see off their relatives. The ASP said that the police would bust all the guessing centres and not spare a single person involved in it. He said that the directors of such guessing centres earned at least Rs. 50,000 a day.

Earlier, police had arrested 12 gamblers from Patel Bus Stand on August 10, 2016, and 23 gamblers from Rauza locality under Town police station. Three directors of the guessing centres have so far been sent to jail. the
