Motihari : Five boys belonging to village Phulwsaria drowned to death in a pond near village Mohanwa close tor Chakiya in East Champaran District in North Bihar on July 8, 2020, night. The bodies were fished out from the pond at Mohanawa on July 9, 2020, morning, by NDRF divers. The bodies were sent to Motihari Sadar Hospital for post-mortem.
SADPO, Chakiyas, AShailendra Kumar, said that the boys in 13-19 year age group had gone to the bank of pond with other villagers to attend cremation of a woman. After the cremation, they entered the pond to take bath but they slipped deep into it and drowned. On July 9 morning, the bodies were fished out by the NDRF team. The deceased were identified as Deepak Kumar, Vishal Kumar , Golu, Ravi Kumar, and A Kumar.
